PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MDUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA 0J0146 The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council w e called to order by Mayor Crane at 8 :00 P.M., October 22, 1962 at 2401 Highway #104 Present were: Mayor: Allan B. Crane Clerk: Lloyd J. Blanchard Trustees: Donald Hodges Perry Malvin John L. Sullivan Also Present: Attorney Richard Meyers Engineer: Les Knutson Adm. Deputy Clerk: Paul E. Boog Public Works: Walter Skiba The Attorney stated that the public hearing on the rezoning of the O'Connell property was cancelled by request of the petitioner, Mr. Jack Bell. Motion by Sullivan to accept minutes of October 8, 1962 as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes Motion by Malvin to accept the minutes of October 11, 1962, special meeting, as presented. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes. Mayor Crane read a letter of resignation from Ken Ballenger, as Mounds View Civil Defense O irector. Motion by Sullivan to accept the resignation of Mr. Ballenger and to direct the Clerk's Office to send a letter of appreciation to Mr. Ballenger. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. Motion by Crane that the acting director of Civil Defense, Mr. Charles Jackson, receive an expense check monthly, not to exceed $30.00 for expenses incurred in performance of the Civil Defense Directors duties. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. The Clerk's Office was instructed to do the typing of certain forms and reports for the Civil Defense Department. The minutes of an informal meeting held on October 19, 1962 with the Council and the N.S.S.IZ. were received and- plscdd on file. Mr. Hodges reported that the warming houses were being insulated to conserve heat and costs. Mr. Malvin reported that the janitor had resigned and would be replaced temporarily by Mr. Johnson, village maintenance employee. The Lakeside Park Commission informed the Council that the Spring Lake Park V.F.W. organization will have a hockey and skating rink with a warming house at Spring Lake Park this winter and will furnish the attendants necessary.
