Gil Groberg 2277 Sherwood Road. <br />Mr. Stole read the minutes of the Planning Commission <br />Meeting relative to this matter and also a planner's report. <br />(both on file) <br />This matter was discussed by residents and questions <br />and answers were exchanged informally. <br />The Council spoke individually regarding this matter <br />and the Mayor closed the hearings <br />Motion by Hodges to deny request for rezoning. <br />Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes. <br />A five minutes recess was taken after which the <br />entire Council was present. <br />Motion by Crane that the Council will at the appropriate <br />time take any required action to allow a radio station and tower <br />to be constructed. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes. <br />Above motion is merely a motion of intent of the Council <br />and does not constitute actual approval of any definite plans. <br />The Mayor read the Pdilice Commission Report and it was <br />placed on file. <br />A letter of rectmmendation from the Police Chief regarding <br />Mr. Kardell was read and placed on file. <br />Motion by Crane to hire Mr. John Kardell, 7905 Greenfield <br />as recommended by Police Commission, as Patrolman for a six <br />month probation period at a salary of 50.00 per month. <br />Seconded by Blanchard 4 Ayes. <br />Malvin Naye <br />Motion by Crane to concur with Police Commissions <br />recommendation and hire Mrs. Harriet Kish on a part time basis <br />as policewoman at an hourly wage of $1.50. Seconded by Malvin. SAyes <br />Mrs. Kish to be placed on 90 days probation and a report. <br />from Police Commission and Police Chief to be forwarded at that <br />time to the Council. <br />Motion by Sullivan to refer proposed handbook for Police <br />Department to Attorney for study and recommendation to Council. <br />Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes. <br />A letter from Chief of Police regarding salary adjustment <br />for Patrolaman Davis was read and placed on file. <br />Motion by Blanchard to concur with recommendation of Police <br />Chief and raise Patrolman Davis' salary to 160.00 per month <br />effective January 15, 1963. Seconded by Crane. 5 Ayes. <br />Patrolman Davis will continue to serve out his probation <br />period. (approximately 2 months) <br />Mr. Hodges reported that the rinks were in good shape and <br />well attended, and that a tractor broom had been purchased <br />and was now used instead of the plow. <br />Mr. Sullivan reported that the Engilleer would Contact <br />the Contractor regarding the rusting of the filter tanks. <br />
