-2- Following are those speaking in favor of UvU t r 1. Mr. Sinderson for Mr. Friedlund 8066 Sunnyside Road 2. Gil Groberg 2277 Sherwood Road. Mr. Stole read the minutes of the Planning Commission Meeting relative to this matter and also a planner's report. (both on file) This matter was discussed by residents and questions and answers were exchanged informally. The Council spoke individually regarding this matter and the Mayor closed the hearings Motion by Hodges to deny request for rezoning. Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes. A five minutes recess was taken after which the entire Council was present. Motion by Crane that the Council will at the appropriate time take any required action to allow a radio station and tower to be constructed. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes. Above motion is merely a motion of intent of the Council and does not constitute actual approval of any definite plans. The Mayor read the Pdilice Commission Report and it was placed on file. A letter of rectmmendation from the Police Chief regarding Mr. Kardell was read and placed on file. Motion by Crane to hire Mr. John Kardell, 7905 Greenfield as recommended by Police Commission, as Patrolman for a six month probation period at a salary of 50.00 per month. Seconded by Blanchard 4 Ayes. Malvin Naye Motion by Crane to concur with Police Commissions recommendation and hire Mrs. Harriet Kish on a part time basis as policewoman at an hourly wage of $1.50. Seconded by Malvin. SAyes Mrs. Kish to be placed on 90 days probation and a report. from Police Commission and Police Chief to be forwarded at that time to the Council. Motion by Sullivan to refer proposed handbook for Police Department to Attorney for study and recommendation to Council. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes. A letter from Chief of Police regarding salary adjustment for Patrolaman Davis was read and placed on file. Motion by Blanchard to concur with recommendation of Police Chief and raise Patrolman Davis' salary to 160.00 per month effective January 15, 1963. Seconded by Crane. 5 Ayes. Patrolman Davis will continue to serve out his probation period. (approximately 2 months) Mr. Hodges reported that the rinks were in good shape and well attended, and that a tractor broom had been purchased and was now used instead of the plow. Mr. Sullivan reported that the Engilleer would Contact the Contractor regarding the rusting of the filter tanks.
