The <br />Attorn.:/ read the State Statute governing the ability of the Village <br />to tax foi pest control. <br />The Council approved the request of the Skelly Oil <br />Company to omit the shrubbery from the plans for their station <br />on Groveland and Highway 10. <br />Motion by Blanchard to concur with the Building Inspectors <br />recommendation and allow construction of a screen house at 7940 <br />Greenfield Avenue. Seconded by Crane. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. Skiba was directed to notify owner of home at <br />7630 Spring Lake Park Road that approval of water system for his <br />home will be denied until drainfield in his front yard is moved <br />further from water line. <br />A notice will be published advising the citizens that a <br />permit is required befcre water service is to go from curb stop <br />to home. <br />A letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities re- <br />garding action contemplated by State Legislature was read: <br />;Motion by Crane to send telegrams to Ashback, Allen and <br />Governor Rolvaag opposing H.F. 1733 and S.F. 1442. <br />Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />The Police report for April was read and filed. <br />A letter from the Chief of Police regarding Officer Kardell <br />was read and filed. Motion by Crane to concur with Police Chief <br />and Police Commission recommendation and raise `)fficer Kardells <br />salary to $100.00 per month. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Crane to advertise for two men to read all water <br />meters between June 15 and June 30, 1963, at 25 per meter. Clerk's <br />Office to hire. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes, <br />Mr. Sullivan gave a brief report on a meeting with members <br />of the Council of the Village of New Brighton regarding a joint <br />municipal court and requested that the full council and Village <br />Attorneys attend a meeting on June 19, 1963 8 :00 P.M. at the <br />New Brighton Village Hall. (If time is O.K. call Mayor Sweezo) <br />Motion by Crane to refund to Mr. Moe $250.00 placed with <br />the Village as a bond for his house moving.
