PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIE" <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was <br />called to order by Mayer Hodges at 8:00 P.M., January 11, 1965 at <br />2401 Highway 10. <br />Roll Call of Officers: <br />Present !ere: <br />Mayor: <br />Clerk: <br />Trustee: <br />Donald C. Boog <br />Engineer Shelly Boehm <br />Attorney Richard Meyers <br />Public Works: waiter Skiba <br />The Mayor called three times for further bids for the office <br />bookeeping machine and then declared the bidding closed. <br />The Clerk opened the bids as follows: <br />1. Monjoe- International No )aid <br />2. N.C.R. $4,320.00 Security Certified Check $216.00 <br />The Mayor asked if any bids presented were not read. There <br />were none. <br />Motion by La Vaque to refer bid to Clerk for tabulation <br />and recommendations at next meeting. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by La Vaque to approve minutes of December 28, 1964 <br />as presented. Seconded by Rustad. 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by La Vaque to approve minutes of January 4, 1965 as <br />presented. Seconded by Hodges. <br />M.v. Malvin stated that '.e was not notified of that meeting <br />so he could not attend. Malvin abstain 4 Ayes. <br />The matter of policing the Bel Bae Ballroom was discussed <br />at some length by the Council and those present. Mr. Ramacher, who <br />is the owner of said ballroom stated he was very satisfied with the <br />way things are at present in regards to the Police and would not like <br />to change. The Attorney pointed out that the Ordinance required a <br />regular Police Officer and therefore no other person could serve <br />in that capacity. <br />Mr. Rustad will attend the Civil Defense meeting on January <br />27, 1965 to explain this to the Civil Defense Group. <br />Mrs. Samuel B. Fried asked why she did not receive the <br />information she requested by phone. (On two different occasions) <br />This referred to a request for the number of ballots ordered for all <br />clntests in the November 11 General Election in Mounds View. The <br />Village Attorney had informed the Clerk's Office that any requested <br />information either written or oral, relating to the Contested Election <br />was to be referred to him. <br />This matter was discussed by the Council and it appeared to <br />be a case of employees being over cautious. Mrs. Fried was assured <br />that this can happen in any business, but that this should not happen <br />again in Mounds View. <br />
