-2- <br />The Attorney announced that Herbst Construction Company 0 JO O 53 <br />had been contracted to do clean -up work in the village. <br />The Village has received letters from the Building Inspector, <br />Plumbing and Heating Inspector, Electrical Inspector and the Public <br />Health Officer. The Council will send these, with a covering letter <br />to Govenor Rolvagg asking for his assistance in getting Federal Aid. <br />County Commissioner, Ed Salverda,announced that the County <br />Board had passed a resolution today stating that persons whose houses <br />were totally destroyed by the to::..nado can apply for a rebate on their <br />1965 taxes. <br />Mr. Boog announced that the County Assessor and the County <br />Auditor will tour the area tomorrow morning. (5- 11 -65) <br />Mr. Varnes, 7350 Fairchild Avenue, would like to have his <br />property razed the early part of next week. His insurance should be <br />settled by Friday. <br />Mr. Joe Dolphy and Mr, Ben Dahl appeared before the Council <br />in answer to a letter sent by the Council regarding compliance with <br />zoning regulations. <br />1. Mr. Dolphy said that the neighbors did not want a fence <br />but that he would plant trees sometime. <br />2. He said he did not agree*to put up a fence. <br />3. The place has been cleaned up. It was inspected last <br />fall and again this month. <br />4. He said he didn't know that he owed a $5.00 special <br />use permit fee. He agreed to pay it. <br />5. Mr. Dahl said that he would have the gas pumps removed. <br />The Attorney announced that all cars from the disaster area <br />are being towed to the Village Hall and kept under guard. <br />Motion by La Vague that the Village not be responsible for <br />cars left in the lot after May 20, 1965 and that cars be disposed <br />of 30 days from May 15, 1965. Seconded by Malvin. 5 Ayes. <br />The Mayor red a letter from Captain Vern Leitz, 820 Sunset <br />Terrace, Dover, Delaware, commending the Mounds View Police Force <br />for helping his mother. <br />Police Commission No report. <br />Public Work Mr. La Vague reported that the Village has had <br />sufficient water at all times through the emergency. <br />He also sta ed that no work has been done on road repair <br />for the last week. <br />He announced1 that water meters are being taken out of all <br />condemned homes. <br />Motion by La Vague to abate water bills from these homes <br />from the last billino to the present rending on those meters. <br />Seconded by Blanchare. 5 Ayes. <br />The Village Ennincc:r submittL:1 the folldwinq estimates: <br />Estimate #1, Schedule C, for Sewer 1964 -3; Estimate_ 8, Sewer 1964 -1; <br />Estimate 1, 3chedu'.c F, for Sewer 1964 -3; Estivate fi 9, Schedule A <br />for Sewer 1964 -1 and Estimate ti 1, for "at,.r 1965 -1 <br />
