-2- <br />0J0067 <br />Mi. Strangis, one of the attorneys for the Lametti Sons firm, <br />presente- copies of several letters sent to the Council, the Village <br />Engineer and the Village Attorney and requeste- that these letters <br />become a purtion of tie official minutes of this meeting. (Request <br />grante- copies filed with official copy of minutes.) In these letters <br />the firm pointe- out several items, mainly; <br />1. An error had been mane in computing the bi-. <br />2. This error amounte- to $54,471.00. <br />3. They had file- notice before the awar- was mace of withdrawal <br />of sap bid. <br />This was discusse' very thoroughly by all Councilmen, Attorney, <br />Engineer, Citizens, etc. <br />Engineer 's statement; In examination of the bid as submitted, <br />I fin- no obvious errors." <br />Attorney liste three alternatives facing Council: <br />1. Reject_a]. l bids ana readvcrtise. <br />2. Accept bid as submitte <br />3. Proceed against contractors bon- as bid stated No bias <br />may be withdrawn within 30 days." <br />Attorney's recommendation: <br />The bid appears valid, therefore I recommend to the Council the <br />acceptance of this bid." <br />Question on the motion. 5 Ayes. Motion Carried. <br />During the remarks on the above motion Mrs. Samuel Fried question <br />ed the Council ha- acted within the time limit set by law in <br />ordering the project after the public hearings. A check of the minutes <br />is to be made to show her that the Council ha- so well within the <br />time limit. She will also receive'- copy of a letter to the Council <br />from Comstock &_Davis, Engineer regarding this project._ <br />Mayor Hodges reporte that the Village has lease seven F.H.A. <br />homes and subleased thesc to disaster victims for one collar for the <br />first month and $50.00 a month thereafter. <br />The B E Patrol report for April was read an` file-. <br />The Police report for April was read an- file <br />Mr. Rusta- read r letter of resignation from ')fficer Erwin Kish, <br />(On File) <br />Motion by Rusta- to accept resignation of Officer Erwin Kish <br />effective June 1, 1965 3n- to direct the Clerk's )ffice to prepare a <br />letter of appreciation to him for the fine service he has ren -ere- the <br />Village. Secon -e- by La_Vaque. 5 Ayes. <br />:;.r. La Vague recirte sewer work was progressing and that <br />emporary patching is L. :ing -one to make the etours usable. <br />The Building Inspector was irected to ccntact the owner of 2296 <br />Lois Drive in regard to a rebuilding problem. <br />
