A lengthy discussion followed as each Councilman expressed his view and many <br />residents commented either for or against the proposed action. <br />1 The Second was withdrawn by Trustee Lang. <br />M /S /P (Walser /Lang) (Replacement motion) To defer action on the hiring of <br />John Engle pending further discussion and the completion of further checking <br />of applicant. 4 Ayes Walser abstaining <br />M /S /P (Walser /Johnson) To approve bills represented by check numbers 900 through <br />925, 1061, and 3111 through 3131. (Reference detailed list of bills). 5 Ayes <br />M /S /P /(Walser /Rustad) To approve resolutions on Lot Splits (#291, #292 and <br />#293). 5 Ayes <br />M /S /P (Walser /Malvin) To approve the General Contracting License for Ralph <br />Lund. 5 Ayes <br />A Special Use Permit for the Superior 400 Station was discussed. Resident <br />questioned whether motel and restaurant weren't supposed to be built at same <br />time or before the station. Superior 400 Representative advised that the <br />restaurant is being planned but no commitments are being made on the motel <br />as yet. Referred to the Planning Commission. <br />M /S /P (Walser /Johnson) To approve the attendance and registration of the office <br />employees at the Municipals meeting on April 19, 1967. 5 Ayes <br />Trustee Malvin excused. <br />Trustee Johnson reported that he had toured the unfinished streets in the Village <br />and feels there is very little that can be done at this time. <br />Trustee Lang read the Planning Commission minutes. <br />M /S /P (Lang /Johnson) To accept the Planning Commission recommendation on the <br />Eigenheer Addition. 4 Ayes <br />M /S /P (Lang /Johnson) To approve the Stork and Syverson Subdivision of properties <br />to obtain one extra lot Subject to approval of Building Permit by Village <br />Inspector. 4 Ayes <br />Further discussion of Superior 400 referred to a presentation by parent company <br />(Gulf Oil) approximately one and one -half years ago and the agreement of the <br />Planning Commission at that time with the general plans for a motel and gas <br />station. On the basis of the recent discussions with the Planning Commission, <br />they now request that hearing for a special use permit be held. <br />M /S /P (Lang /Rustad) To set the hearing date for Special Use Permit on property <br />owned by Superior 400 for April 10, 1967 at 9:00 P. M. 4 Ayes <br />M /S /P (Lang /Johnson) To direct the Engineer to proceed to devise one large map <br />of zoning for posting that can be easily updated. 4 Ayes <br />
