PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIE';:` <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 26, 1967 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was <br />called to order by Mayor Rustad at 8:00 P. M. on Monday, <br />June 26, 1967 at the Village Hall, 2401 Highway #10, St. <br />P-u1, Minnesota, 55112. <br />PRESENT <br />Mayor I. C. Rustad <br />Trustee P. Malvin <br />Trustee R. Johnson <br />ALSO PRESENT ABSENT <br />Attorney Meyers Clerk 'alser <br />Engineer Boehm Trustee G. Lang <br />M /S./P (Malvin/Johnson) To approve the minutes of May 22, <br />1967 with the following correction per Malvin: "I would <br />like 9:'; to go on record that we (the Council) were accused <br />of playing politics, and that we didn't want to hire Mr. <br />Engle, and that it had. to do with Mr. Engle leaving <br />the Village employment. 3 Ayes <br />Approval of June 12, 1967 minutes was deferred. <br />Residents requests and comments: <br />A petition was submitted to the Council regarding signs being <br />put up on Long Lake Road and Hillview reducing the speed, also <br />"atch Out for Children and a play ground sign along Green- <br />wood and Hillview and Long Lake Road. A letter will be sent <br />to the County Engineer, Dean Anklan regarding the matter, <br />M2. Leo Stellphlug of the Mounds View Mobile Home Park in- <br />quired as to what could be done regarding a fence being put <br />up along the highway. They were informed that this is private <br />prooerty and this was more or less up to the owners of the <br />park, but the Village will do all they can to acquire snow <br />fence from the County for a temporary fence. See residents <br />of the park informed the Council that they would transport <br />the snow fence and install it. They would need approximately <br />300 yards. The Clerks office was d;.rocted to contact the <br />County by letter regarding the fence. They were informed <br />that we cannot use Municipal funds to put up a fence, nor do <br />we have any right to put up signs s?.nce this is privately owned. <br />A to nado shelter was also discussec,. Resicents inquired as <br />to where they could go for shelter. The Clerk's office was <br />directed to contact Charles Jackson, Director of. Civil Defense, <br />to we k on the problem. <br />The Residents also requested that the garbage at 5344 and 5346 <br />Paymond be cleaned up. The matter was turner over to the <br />Police Commissioner for action. <br />
