Present: <br />Mayor Rustad <br />Councilman Malvin <br />Councilman Johnson <br />Councilman Lang <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />August 12, 1968 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Rustad at 8:02 P.M. on Monday, August 12, 1968, at the Village Hall, <br />2401 Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. <br />Also Present: <br />Deputy Clerk Zylla <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Boehm <br />MSP (Johnson /Lang) To approve the minutes of July 22, 1968. <br />Residents requests and comments: <br />Mr. Varnes would like stronger action taken to have the Minar <br />of dead trees and brush. The Council stressed the problem of <br />legal action were taken. The <br />are taking. <br />Mayor Rustad also stated that due to an article appearing in the St. Paul Dispatch <br />criticizing Mounds View for the lack of a Human Rights Commission he felt positive <br />steps should be taken to initiate a commission. Attorney Meyers was instructed to <br />draft a resolution establishing a Human Rights Commission for the next meeting. <br />Mayor Rustad also mentioned briefly the fact that a letter was sent to NSSSD <br />requesting $7,500.00 for the Wayside Park restoration. <br />4 Ayes <br />Deputy Clerk Zylla's Report: <br />MSP (Malvin /Rustad) To approve the following licenses: Heating license Harrington <br />Son Heating Company, Excavating license Midwest Excavating Company, Inc., General <br />Contractor license Riverview Cement Company, Inc., Misc, Gasoline Station license <br />Bob's Gulf. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Rustad /Johnson) To approve general checks #2570 2612, and payroll checks <br />#394 411. 4 Ayes <br />MSP (Malvin /Lang) To approve the following election judges for the September 10 <br />state primary and for the November 5 general and Village election. <br />
