A Special Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Rustad at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 1, 1970, at the Village Hall, 2401 <br />Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. <br />Present: <br />Mayor Rustad <br />Councilman Malvin <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Blanchard <br />Councilman Neisen <br />Mayor Rustad read two lists of certified applicants for the two positions of <br />patrolman for the Village of Mounds View. Discussion on the applicants <br />followed. Approximately 117 applications were received, 80 persons took <br />the examination, and 25 passed. <br />MSP (Malvin/Blanchard) To accept the resignation of Ted Nemetz as Mounds <br />View patrolman effective May 29, 1970. <br />MSP (Malvin/Blanchard) To accept the recommendation of the Mounds View Police <br />Civil Service Commission and hire Gary Kreyer and Art Olmstead to the position <br />of Mounds View patrolman at a salary per the police schedule with the normal <br />probationary period. Art Olmstead to start effective June 8th and Gary Kreyer <br />to start July 1st upon passing a physical examination. <br />MSP (Blanchard/Neisen) To authorize Clerk Administrator Zylla to advertise <br />in the New Brighton Bulletin or local trade papers for a maintenance an for <br />the Public Works Department. <br />MEP (Rustad/Neisen) To accept the low bid by Layne Minnesota of $7,400 for <br />Water Project 1970 -2 and to waive the informality of the 5% bid bond.
