Councilman Neisen's Report <br />MSP (Neisen /Blanchard) To authorize a purchase of a 1972 3/4 ton pickup truck <br />with a small V8 and automatic transmission for the maintenance department, <br />through Ramsey County joint purchasing. <br />Mayor Rustad commented that he hoped that this truck was better cared for than <br />some of the other equipment. He felt that it was a shame the way some of our <br />municipal equipment had been treated. <br />3 <br />Councilman Johnson's Report <br />Councilman ,!ohnson stated that as a result of the meeting with various representatives <br />of Blaine and Spring Lake Park and Fire Chief Fagerstrom, the Fire Department budget <br />for 1972 was reduced by approximately $5,500.00. <br />Attorney Meyers' Report <br />Attorney Meyers stated that the park bond referendum election notice has been <br />prepared and sent to the New Brighton Bulletin for publication. <br />Attorney Meyers presented an ordinance combining the offices of clerk and treasurer. <br />Also an ordinance was presented amending Ordinance #64, Subdivision Regulations, in <br />regard to the Village requiring 10% of land or cash equivalent for public sites, <br />parks or playgrounds in all subdivisions. Both of these ordinances were tabled <br />for further study. <br />MSP (Blanchard /Neisen) To adopt Ordinance #188 amending Ordinance #23 defining <br />and prohibiting the game of bingo providing for permit regulations for the playing <br />thereof and providing a penalty for violation. <br />Attorney Meyers presented and read a memorandum relative to the establishment and <br />cost of forming a joint municipal court. No action was taken on this memorandum. <br />Engineer Boehm's Report <br />Engineer Boehm reported that the solution to clean sewers which he was asked to <br />check on was in his opinion no good for the purpose intended. <br />Engineer Boehm reported on the drainage problem in the area of 2111 Oakwood Drive. <br />He stated that it appears to be a minimum drainage system with a 90 degree bend <br />and that it is possible that the drainage may flow through if a manhole could be <br />installed at the bend in order to clean the pipe out periodically. <br />MSP (Johnson /Blanchard) To adjourn at 9:37 P.M. 4 Ayes <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Dennis S.
