Mayor Neisen's Report <br />2 <br />Aft Mayor Neisen read the Police Report for June. <br />MSP (Neisen Pickar) To hire Carol Waide as Police Department Secretary effective <br />July 17, 1972 at a rate of $2.60 per hour with an automatic increase to $2.80 per <br />hour after a six month probationary period. 5 Ayes <br />Mayor Neisen read a summary of the State Law which outlin'd the requirements for <br />swimming pool fences. <br />Mayor Neisen returned a check for $65.00 which was the unexpended balance of the <br />$150.00 check issued to him for the League of Minnesota Municipalities Convention <br />in Rochester. Receipts totaling $85.00 were also presented. <br />Clerk- Administrator Zylla's Report <br />MSP (Hodges- Johnson) To approve the following licenses: (See attached sheet). 5 Ayes <br />MSP Pickar- Hodges) To approve the following bills: General checks #6219 <br />consecutive through #6282, Bond checks #615 616, and Payroll checks #2799 <br />through 2821. Total disbursements $180,558.27. 5 Ayes <br />Mayor Neisen called the hearing to consider a variance on an oversize garage for <br />Arthur Zielinski at 8344 Groveland Road to order at 8:34 P.M. Clerk Zylla read <br />the legal notice and attested to its publication in the New Brighton Bulletin on <br />June 29th and July 6th, 1972. He stated that ten persons were notified of the <br />hearing. Mrs. Robert Bruflodt, 8346 Groveland presented a statement in favor of <br />the variance request. Mr. Syverson, 8365 Groveland also stated he was in favor <br />of the request. Mayor Neisen called for objections and there were none. Mayor <br />Neisen expiained that the hearing was being held not so much to question the 864 <br />square foot size, but because of the unusual design of the building. The building <br />resembles a red barn. <br />MSP (Baumgartner Hodges) To grant the variance request to Arthur Zielinski for <br />the 864 square foot garage at 8344 Groveland. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Johnson Neisen) To close the hearing at 8:40 P.M. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Johnson Hodges) To approve the issuance of a transient merchants license to <br />Ronnie Erickson, 7855 Greenwood Drive to sell snowcones for a six month period. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges- Johnson) To certify Arthur Holm as the operator in charge of the <br />mater supply system on July 1, 1972 and James Schlichtmann a4 the operator in <br />charge of the sanitary sewer system on July 1, ly /z in coniormautt with the <br />mandatory State Certification Program established by the 1971 Legislature. <br />Clerk Zylla read a letter from PBK Investment Company requesting sewer, water and <br />street improvements in the Mounds View Industrial Park, <br />
