There was some discussion about the proposed letter to be sent to the Rice Creek <br />"atershed District opposing their policy of requiring review of plats after review by <br />e local Planning Commission. The Council authorized sending the letter. <br />ouncilman Baumgartner read portions of an article which appeared in the Minneapolis Star <br />on November 25th, which concerned Mounds View's withdrawal from the financing of the Teen <br />Center. Mr. Baumgartner took exception to the article and stated that the person who <br />made the comments to the press was irresponsible. <br />MSP (Johnson- Baumgartner) To authorize the Clerk to send a letter to the Star together <br />with a copy of the Mounds View resolution withdrawing from the Teen Center, with a copy <br />also th the Community One Board of Directors, raising issue to the story that was <br />contained in the Star article. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Nelsen- Baumgartner) To authorize the granting of three building permits for three <br />four- pleaes on Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 2, Parkview Terrace subject to the approval of <br />the building inspector and the fire chief. <br />Councilman Picker's Report <br />Councilman Picker stated that he has no new information on ice skating this winter at <br />Lakeside Park. <br />Councilman Pickar stated that he has spoken to the County Commissioner's office today <br />regarding the request for traffic control at County Road I and Quincy Street. He was <br />informed that there has been no action for or against and he hoped to contact Engineer <br />Anklan to find out why there was a delay. <br />ispector Skiba's Report <br />MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To grant Century Motor Freight 24 hours to provide Inspector Skiba <br />with the mechanical drawings for the motor freight terminal or the building will be red <br />tagged and construction must cease. 5 Ayes <br />A motion by Councilman Johnson to close down the construction operation effective <br />immediately because there were no mechanicals died for lack of a second. <br />Attorney Meyers' Report <br />MSP (Picker- Hodges) To adopt Resolution #587 approving the agreement between the First <br />National Bank of St. Paul and the Village of Mounds View authorizing the First National <br />Bank of St. Paul to serve as paying agent for Village bonds and authorizing the Mayor <br />and Clerk to sign the agreement. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Baumgartner Pickar) To adopt Ordinance #195 fixing the salary of the Mayor at <br />$2,400.00 per year and $1,800 per year for each Councilman effective January 1, 1973. 4 Ayes <br />1 Naye <br />A motion to amend the motion by Mayor Neisen to provide for an increase to $2,100 per <br />year for the Mayor died for lack of a second. <br />Engineer Boehm's Report <br />Q nce parking is prohibited to one side of MSA streets, a recommendation by the Engineer <br />
