He added that he was willing to make a cash payment within reason. He said there <br />is a problem in determining the value of the property. <br />Attorney Baker stated that it is in the best interest of his client to get the <br />preliminary plat approved and there is no reason to delay. <br />Attorney Meyers retorted that if the Recreation Commission wants land it may make <br />a decision which will affect the preparation of the final plat. He said that after <br />the Recreation Commission meets, if they want cash, that steps be taken to hire an <br />appraiser immediately. Mr. Edes agreed to make a cash contribution, but he would <br />like to negotiate the figure. He still wants preliminary plat approval. He felt <br />it would be a good development for the Village. He said the court reporter was <br />here tonight to insure that he he treated reasonably. <br />Mayor Neisen asked if any of the Council wanted to rescind the previous motion. <br />There was no response. Attorney Baker asked if the Council would approve the <br />preliminary plat if the Recreation Commission wanted a cash dedication. <br />All Councilmen with the exception of Councilman Johnson responded that they saw <br />no problems with the plat. <br />Councilman Johnson would not take a position at this time. <br />The Regular Meeting resumed at 10:32 P.M. <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner stated that they are still advertising for rink attendants <br />until December 3, 1973. <br />Councilman Baumgartner acknowledged receipt of the land appraisals for the Minor <br />and the Downing properties. <br />He thanked Gene Skiba of the New Brighton Bulletin for his article on park vandalism. <br />Councilman Picker's Report <br />Councilman Pickar reported that the Human Rights Commission meeting was held last <br />week. Also, that the Commission is in need of two members. <br />Attorney Meyers' Report <br />MSP (Pickar-Johnson) To approve Resolution #618, determining that certain <br />property located in the Village of Mounds View is not tax exempt. 5 Ayes <br />Attorney Meyers also presented a copy of Resolution #617 and #615 which were approved <br />at the last Council Meeting. <br />Attorney Meyers announced that the offer from Arvid Birkeland to contribute to the <br />drainage solution at Sherwood Road and Jackson Drive has been withdrawn. <br />MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To cancel the December 24th Council Meeting and to reschedule <br />it for December 17, at 8:00 P.M., and to set a special meeting for January 2, 1974 <br />at 7 :00 P.M. 5 Ayes <br />
