PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A regular meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Johnson at 8:04 p.m., February 24, 1975, at the Pinewood Elementary <br />School, 5500 Quincy Street, Mounds View, Minnesota 55112 <br />Present: Mayor Johnson <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Councilman Shelquist <br />Also Present: Clerk- Administrator Achen <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Bearden <br />MSP (Hodges Baumgartner) to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of <br />February 10, 1975,as presented. <br />MSP (Pickar Baumgartner) to approve the minutes of the special meeting of <br />February 13, 1975, as presented. <br />Mayor Johnson reported on his pr.sentation to the Ramsey County Board of <br />Commissioners on the matter of a county -wide police force. There were <br />about seven other mayors present from suburban Ramsey County communities <br />to express their concern regarding several legislative proposals of the <br />Board. Mayor Johnson stated that a meeting was held last Wednesday evening <br />with legislators and senators that represent Mounds View and seven other <br />communities in Ramsey County_ It was an opportunity to sit down and discuss <br />different proposals currently before the Minnesota legislature. Mayor <br />Johnson stated the meeting was very successful. <br />Mayor Johnson asked what the timetable for completion of Project 1973 -4 is. <br />Engineer Bearden stated Orfie and Sons will be plowing snow and dewatering <br />this week. The contractor wants to see how the dewatering goes before he makes <br />any comments on a timetable. He will have a better idea in two or three weeks. <br />Mayor Johnson asked about the traffic signals on Highway 10 at County Road H2 <br />and County Road I. Administrator Achen stated the State is anxious to get <br />going but he has not contacted the County about paying more of the operating <br />expenses. <br />Mayor Johnson stated Representative Howard Neisen met with the Council at the <br />last agenda meeting. It was a good opportunity for the Council to exchange <br />thoughts with the Representative regarding changes that will affect our <br />community. <br />Administrator Achen responded to a question on requiring a plat or survey <br />for minor subdivision. He noted there is a need to clarify the sequence <br />of events involved in both major and minor subdivisions. He will have a <br />report for Council at its next meeting. <br />Councilman Shelquist stated Barbara Haake plans to rewrite the subdivision <br />procedure. He said he compared the procedure presently used and that <br />written in the code and found some confusion between the two. He said the <br />subdivision booklets should be updated to agree with the code. <br />5 Ayes <br />5 Ayes <br />
