-12- <br />Administrator Achen explained the proposed memorandum of understanding <br />with International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local No. 320. There <br />was strong sentiment with all the cities involved that the joint <br />negotiations had not been successful in 1975. Each individual <br />municipality tried to negotiate a separate 1976 settlement. However, <br />by joint negotiation, the terms of this memorandum were agreed <br />to by the Teamsters Local 320 and the M.A.M.A. committee. The <br />economic terms are identical to those in New Brighton's Local 320 <br />settlement for 1976 and 1977 which were fairly reasonable. 1970 <br />salaries will increase 7.96% and 1977 salaries 5.42%. <br />Mounds View policemen initially rejected this offer last month. <br />However, the union representatives have signed the memorandum, and <br />there is a likelihood that it will be accepted by the membership <br />now.
