PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A special meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Johnson on January 5, 1976, at 6:38 p.m. at Edgewood Junior High <br />School cafeteria, 5100 Edgewood Drive, Mounds View, Minnesota. <br />Present: Mayor Johnson Also present: Administrator Achen <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Councilman Shelquist <br />MSP (Johnson Pickar) to appoint Councilman Hodges acting Mayor for 1976. <br />MSP Shelquist- Hodges) to appoint the New Brighton Bulletin as legal <br />newspaper for 1976. <br />Mayor Johnson asked the Administrator to write a letter to Mr. Eugene <br />Skiba of the Bulletin thanking him for the excellent job of reporting he <br />has done in the past and the tremendous cooperation he has shown the City. <br />Mayor Johnson asked the Administrator whether the service of the 1st State <br />Bank of New Brighton had been satisfactory in 1976. Administrator Achen <br />indicated that the Bank's service has been very satisfactory. <br />MSP (Baumgartner Pickar) to appoint 1st State Bank of New Brighton the <br />City's official depository for 1976. <br />Mayor Johnson noted the resignation of Mr. Michael Lonergan from the <br />Planning Commission and asked the Administrator to publish notice of <br />vacancy on the Planning Commission, stating that interested applicants <br />should submit resumes. Deadline Thursday, January 22, 1976. Councilman <br />Pickar noted that the Lakeside Park Commission has two vacancies and so <br />does the Human Rights Commission. <br />Administrator Achen noted that a Local No. 7:20 contract had been signed <br />by the union representatives implementing the Memorandum of Understanding <br />between Teamsters Local No. 320 and the M.A.M.A. Negotiating Committee <br />approved by the Council at its December 8, 1975 meeting. <br />5 ayes <br />5 ayes <br />5 ayes <br />MSP (Hodges Shelquist) to accept and execute Local No. 320 contract for <br />1976 and 1977. 5 ayes <br />MSP (Baumgartner- Hodges) tr accept Dept. of Housing and Urban Development <br />community development bloc; grant of $25,000 for inventory of existing <br />housing conditions and im;lementation of housing code enforcement activities <br />and to authorize the Mayrr to execute the contract accepting the grant. 5 ayes <br />MSP (Pickax- Hodges) to adjourn at 7:00 p.m. 5 ayes <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Mask Achen <br />Clerk- Administrator <br />
