PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY CF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A special meeting of the Mounds View City Council was <br />called to order by Acting Mayor Hodges on January 20, 1976 <br />at 7:10 p.m. at the Red Oak Elementary School, 8101 Red <br />Oak Drive, Mounds View, MN. <br />Present: Acting Mayor Hodges Also present: Admin. Achen <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Shelquist Absent: Mayor Johnson <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Acting Mayor Hodges explained the purpose of the meeting <br />and introduced Roger Short of Banister, Short, Elliott, <br />Hendrickson Associates, Inc., the engineering consulting <br />firm performing the comprehensive storm water drainage <br />study. <br />Roger Short explained the purpose and time schedule of the <br />comprehensive storm drainage study. He stated that his <br />firm desired to obtain as much input as possible from <br />residents who have experienced drainage problems. <br />Jerry Sunde explained the purpose of the groundwater portion <br />of the drainage study. He indicated that the piezometers <br />installed in street boulevards throughout the City were <br />to provide data on the water table. <br />Steve Miller, 2614 Clearview asked when study would be <br />completed and when the information would be available to <br />citizens. <br />Roger Short indicated that the completion date is mid April, <br />however, it may be postponed somewhat to allow collection <br />of data during the spring ram season. <br />Tom Basterash, 8000 Greenwood had ground water problem. <br />Experienced increase of water level in basement of 8" after <br />only 11" rain storm. Had water for ten straight days <br />after the July storm. <br />Joe McCarthy, 7760 Long Lake commented on Mounds View Square's <br />drainage problems and their affect on neighboring residential <br />properties. <br />Mr. Teslow, 7932 Fairchild surface water flooding every year. <br />Water drains from Hillview, Fairchild and Highway 10 to his <br />property rather than to the Highway 10 ditch to the west. <br />
