Administrator Achen recommended that the Council authorize specifications to be revised to allow a 1979 construction season completion date of June 22, 1979. Mr. McCarty presented Administrator Achen with a hand written letter stating that the meeting was not for the purpose of political endorsement. Councilmember Rowley asked if the Concerned Citizens group was the same one that Jim Bergstrom had organized for the airport issue earlier in the year. Mr. McCarty replied that it was not and that the first group was not active and the two were considering merging. Bill Doty, 3049 Bronson Drive, asked if the $1,000,000 he found in the Project 1978 -1 estimated costs was for land acquisition. Attorney Meyers replied that he had given the Council an estimate of $1,000,000 for land acquisition. Mr. Doty asked if Item D from the consent agenda referred to police salaries. Councilmember Rowley replied that it did refer to the police raises as a result of the arbitration award. She added that the City Administrator's salary had also been adjusted by the Council to keep that position in line with the others.
