December 11, 1978 Page 7 <br />Attorney Meyers reported that he was still negotiating a settlement <br />with Laxman Sundae. Administrator Achen added that the attorneys <br />expenses on that case year -to -date amount to $5,868. <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Walijarvi and B <br />quested a delay <br />their insurance <br />the payment and <br />year. <br />reported that he had spoken with the attornies for <br />E Enterprises and that B E Enterprises has re- <br />in payment because they have a claim pending against <br />company, but that they have personally guaranteed <br />should hopefully have it settled by the first of the <br />COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Ziebarth reported that at the last Park and Rec meeting <br />it was announced that the skating rinks would be opening December 16 <br />and they would be open Friday and Saturday until 10 PM. He added that <br />the rest of the time schedule would remain the same as last year. <br />COUNCILMEMBER BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Baumgartner had no report. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Rowley reported that she had recently attended the national <br />League of Cities conference, and that the main theme had been inflation <br />and the control of it. She also reported that she had attended the <br />Planning and Zoning Institute meeting and had found both meetings to be <br />very informative. <br />Councilmember Rowley stated that she had received requests to have the <br />no- smoking sign reposted in the Council chambers, and asked that it be <br />put up again. Administrator Achen replied that signs were on order. <br />MAYOR PICKAR'S REPORT <br />Mayor. Pickar reported that Karen Lindgren, who is a Mounds View resident <br />and teacher at Pinewood is a candidate for teacher of the year. He added <br />that he knows Karen and feels she is an excellent teacher and person. He <br />stated that he has prepared a letter to send to her school and asked that <br />anyone else who knows her and would like to send a letter do so as they <br />would all be taken into consideration in the final selection. <br />MSP Pickar- Baumgartner) to direct the Clerk- Administrator to prepare a <br />resolution for adoption at the December 18 meeting, supporting Miss <br />Lindgren for teacher of the year. 4 ayes <br />MSP (Ziebarth- Baumgartner) to adjourn the meeting at 8150 PM. 4 ayes <br />ctf <br />mitted, <br />Mark Achen <br />Clerk-Administrator <br />
