March 12, 1979 <br />would like to discuss the whole issue at the next agenda session, such <br />as where the grader is going when, how much money has been spent and how <br />much is let, how long the grader will be used, and who will be making the <br />decisions. <br />Mayor McCarty explained that at the previous agenda session the Council <br />had directed the maintenance supervisor to take the front loader out on <br />the worst roads, but that unknown to the Council, he was in the process <br />of getting a grader from the County. He agreed that the budget should <br />be looked at to see how much was left. <br />Councilmember Hodges stated he would also like to discuss the issue at <br />the next agenda session. Mayor McCarty replied that the maintenance <br />supervisor could submit a report and would not have to appear in person. <br />Mr. Doty replied that the public has a right to question the maintenance <br />supervisor in person, instead of having to listen to his report presented <br />by someone else. <br />Mr. Loeding stated he would like to be able to see the monthly reports <br />from department heads. Councilmember Ziebarth replied that the reports <br />would be available upon request at City Hall but that due to the length <br />of some of the reports, they might have to charge if someone wanted their <br />own copy. <br />Councilmember Hodges stated that due to the problems with the streets, <br />the City should take a closer look at maintaining them. Mayor McCarty <br />asked Acting Administrator Anderson to find out where the maintenance <br />supervisor stands for the next agenda session. Councilmember Ziebarth <br />added that he would like the maintenance supervisor to be present at the <br />next agenda session to explain the issue to the Council. <br />ATTORNEY MEYERS' REPORT <br />Attorney Meyers reported that he had received notice of the trial for <br />James Refrigeration, which will start on May 1, 1979. <br />ACTING ADMINISTRATOR ANDERSON'S REPORT <br />Acting Administrator Anderson reported that he had received a call from <br />the Fire Chief, asking if the City would be interested in repairing the <br />fire trucks and handle routine maintenance, for a set fee. He explained <br />that the City of Blaine had been doing so in the past but was presently <br />too busy to continue. Mayor McCarty replied that he would like to dis- <br />cuss it further at an agenda session, which would allow the Council time <br />to discuss it with the Fire Chief and maintenance supervisor. <br />Acting Administrator Anderson reported that the Ci <br />Art Holm had been involved in an accident the past <br />truck had not been damaged.
