MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL <br />Page 4 <br />Nelson (continued): 9) Personnel matters- <br />Cannot advertise for Receptionist until the <br />1980 budget is finalized. A C.E.T.A. person <br />is filling the job at $3.25 /hour. $125 is <br />needed until the budget is done (48 days). <br />In the Park Recreation Dept., an amount of <br />$674 is needed for Playground Director. <br />McCarty made the motion, seconded by Forslund <br />to authorize the positions of Receptionist and <br />Playground Director to continue and their wages <br />($125 and $674) until the budget is completed. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Nelson (continued):10) Re: Painting the water <br />tower, the painters went out of town instead <br />of going on to the second phase. McCarty directed <br />Staff to look into the contract, confer with <br />City Attorney, and issue a letter to the painters <br />by the end of the week. <br />Roger Baumgartner, 7585 Knollwood Dr., asked <br />Forslund to explain the discrepancies in the <br />minutes found at the Planning Commission meeting. <br />Mayor McCarty advised he attend the next Planning <br />Commission meeting where it will be discussed. <br />Two meetings were held, Sept. 4 and Sept. 7, <br />dealing with storm water, questions raised by <br />the public as to the impact of a 50 -year <br />storm, what is the proposed drainage, Res. <br />#983, the traffic issue, highway curb cuts, <br />and water supply for fire safety. <br />Fire Chief Ron Fagerstrom was present, as <br />requested by the public, and gave his opinion <br />regarding fire safety. Fagerstrom concluded <br />that a dead end area should never have more <br />than 20 residences -an emergency exit is needed. <br />Sunny Emerson, 7865 Spring Lake Park Rd., and <br />Janet Schuldt, 7887 Spring Lake Park Rd., spoke <br />for residents concerned about access. A petition, <br />received at City Hall on 9/5/79 at 7:15 PM, from <br />these residents requests the developer provide <br />an equal easement (20 feet) on his property side. <br />The petition was read and is attached. <br />The developer, represented by Cal Lundquist an <br />Thomas Steffens, stated they will provide what- <br />ever the City requires. <br />Regular Meeting <br />September 10, 1979 <br />5.
