MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL March 24, 1980 Councilmember Rowley had no report to 25. REPORT ROWLEY make. Councilmember Hodges noted that the Governor would be holding a Volunteer Week, which ran from April 20th through the 26th. He thought that maybe the City's Annual Spring Clean -Up Day could be on Saturday, April 26th. He also noted that in the Governor's program that samples of appreciation certificates were also contained and he submitted some to City Staff. Mayor noted that the League of Women Voter's had invited the Council to a 7:30 P.M. meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to listen to guest speaker on Hazardous Waste Control. The Mayor also noted to the Council the present status of Lakeside Park. He noted that the Lakeside Park Commission was preceeding as if the commission would still control the program for 1980. Rowley noted that she believed that the commission would be running the program because County didn't appear to be willing to take the program over until the fall of 1980. The Attorney submitted to the City Council a Resolution No. 1098, which authorizes the negotiation of $75,000 worth of Revenue Bonds which would go to pay for the two sewer main breaks that occurred in 1979. This resolution which supercedes an earlier resolution doing a similar activity. Meyers noted that this resolution had been prepared by the Dorsey, Windhorst, Hannaford, Whitney Halladay Firm; the firm which is the City's Bonding Attorney, and that this was in the proper form which would allow the Attorney to render a positive opinion on it. Attached to the resolution was an opinion from the Attorney, John Kirby, which stated there was no conflict with the City Charter or State Law. 26. HODGES REPORT 27. MAYOR'S REPORT 1 8.
