PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF FUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
The Mounds View City Council was called to
order at 7:30 P.M. on October 27, 1980, by
Mayor McCarty.
Members Present: Forslund, Rowley, Hodges,
Ziebarth, and Mayor McCarty.
Also Present: Attorney Meyers and Clerk/
Administrator Pauley.
The regular meeting closed at 7:33 P.M.
The public hearing opened at 7:33 P.M.
The Council was advised by Public Works
Superintendent Decheine on October 20th
that the City's front end loader had developed
engine problems indicating a need for a major
overhaul or replacement of the piece of equip-
ment. Council had asked for further informa-
tion before including this item in the Revenue
Sharing Budget.
Superintendent Decheine was present at the
meeting and notified the Council that the cost
for rebuilding the engine and other repairs would
be approximately $9,200. The City's mechanics
would be doing the labor for this project. Decheine
indicated it would be difficult to predict how long
the piece of machinery would last after rebuilding
the engine. Mayor McCarty noted that in the
case of heavy equipment, repairs of this nature
would increase the longevity of the piece of
machinery and it would be more cost efficient
to repair than to replace.
Administrator Pauley noted that he had received
some quotes (not bids) for a new front end loader
and the cost would be somewhere between $50,000-
$90,000. He also noted that there was sufficient
monies in the water fund account that could be
borrowed until the Revenue Sharing funds were received
next year for the repair or purchase of the
front end loader.
Date Approved: 11 -10 -80
Regular Meeting
October 27, 1980
Mounds View City Hall
2401 Hwy.10, Mounds View City Hall
1.
