SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />City of Mounds View <br />March 12, 1981 <br />Mayor McCarty called the Special Meeting to 1. CALL TO ORDER <br />order at 5:02 p.m. <br />Members Present Councilmembers Doty, 2. ROLL CALL <br />Blanchard, Forslund, and Mayor McCarty. <br />Members Absent Councilmember Hodges. <br />Also Present Clerk- Administrator Pauley, <br />Public Works Superintendent Decheine and <br />City Engineer Dan Boxrud. <br />Clerk- Administrator Pauley indicated the <br />purpose of the meeting was to discuss the <br />work performed by the staff and City <br />Engineer Boxrud in developing a solution <br />to the sewer line break on Quincy Street <br />north of Hillview Road. <br />City Engineer Boxrud presented plans which <br />would call for the abandonment of Lift <br />Station No. 5, the extension of an 18 inch <br />sewer line from the lift station to a point <br />past the break where it would connect with <br />a southerly 8 inch line in a manhole. The <br />manhole would then feed to another manhole <br />by means of an 18 inch line in which the <br />Metropolitan Waste Control Commission would <br />place a flume and meter at no expense to the <br />City. This manhole would then feed in the <br />MWCC main crossing Quincy Street. Once the <br />work has been completed and accepted, the <br />MWCC would accept responsibility for the <br />meter manhole and 18 inch line connecting <br />it to their main. <br />Councilmember Doty made a motion, seconded <br />by Blanchard, to accept the specifications <br />as presented and set bid opening for 3:30 <br />p.m. on March 16, 1981. <br />Ayes -4 Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED. <br />Councilmember Forslund made a motion, seconded <br />by Doty, to set a special meeting for 6:30 p.m. <br />March 16, 1981 to consider the bids and award <br />a contract. <br />Ayes -4 Nays -0 MOTION CARRIED. <br />DATE APPROVED: 03 -23 -81 <br />3.
