MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL <br />Regular Meeting <br />MOTION: Mayor McCarty made a motion to deny the <br />appea request. <br />MOTION FAILS FOR LACK OF A SECOND. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated that the staff <br />had listed the request as a rezoning /code appeal <br />because staff knew that some time in the future <br />Mr. Carley would want a foundry. <br />Discussion took place regarding the allowing of a <br />pattern shop in the I -1 District. <br />MOTION: Mayor McCarty made a motion, seconded by <br />o ilmember Hodges to table the request and to <br />recommend reviewal by the Planning Commission. <br />Discussion of the Motion: <br />Hodges: Would like to take a look at a foundry <br />and go through one again. He stated that he <br />would like to go through the foundry in New <br />Brighton as they probably have changed quite a <br />bit. <br />Mrs. Carley stated that they don't heat at high <br />temperatures in a non ferrous foundry. Further <br />that aluminum is a non ferrous material. <br />Attorney Meyers stated that a non ferrous foundry <br />is a permitted use in a I -2 District. <br />Forslund: Stated that the Planning Commission had <br />visited the foundry. Further that she would go <br />along with denial of a rezoning. She read part <br />of Resolution No. 13 -81. <br />McCarty: Suggested that the request go back to the <br />Planning Commission. <br />MOTION WAS WITHDRAWN BY MAYOR MCCARTY <br />AND COUNCILMEMBER HODGES. <br />MOTION: Mayor McCarty made a motion, seconded by <br />Councilmember Hodges to deny the request for the <br />Carley issue, recommending that the Planning <br />Commission review the Carley Foundry request, <br />specifically the contents of Resolution No. 13 -81, <br />and to make further recommendation to the Council <br />at a future date. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays MOTION CARRIED. <br />COUNCIL RECESSED FOR A BREAK: 8 :31 P.M. <br />May 26, 1981 <br />Page Four. <br />
