Mounds View City Council August 24, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />s^1 <br />ouncilmember Forslund reported that a Housing <br />*Conference for local officials would be held on <br />September 14 at the Sheraton Inn Northwest. <br />Clerk /,Administrator Pauley added that additional <br />information will be provided to the Council on <br />the conference, and that if the budget allows, <br />they could send some members of the Planning <br />Commission, as the registration fee is $12.50. <br />Councilmember Forslund reported there would be <br />a sludge site meeting held in Coon Rapids on <br />September 10 at 8 PM. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Doty reported that there were <br />several park buildings that were not up to <br />code, and recommended looking into using <br />revenue sharing funds to move the buildings <br />to cement slabs and repair them to meet code. <br />Mayor McCarty recommended that the issue be <br />brought before the Park and Rec Commission. <br />Councilmember Doty reported he had attended <br />League of Cities meeting regarding pensions, <br />abor relations and so forth, and that they <br />are working on the areas they will be lobbying <br />for in the Legislature. <br />Mayor McCarty reported that they are close to <br />having the final recommendation ready to present <br />to the Met Council on the airport, and that they <br />hope that within nine months there will be a <br />change in the regulations. He added that he <br />had received a letter that Arden Hills and <br />Spring Lake Park had opted out of the airport <br />fight. <br />Mayor McCarty requested that Staff submit a <br />recommendation for the manhole on Ardan Avenue, <br />such as cost, etc. Clerk /Administrator Pauley <br />replied that the City does not have the equip- <br />ment to do the work so they would obtain estimates <br />on contracting the job out. <br />Mayor McCarty stated he was concerned with the <br />property around the southeast edge of Spring Lake, <br />since the vehicle barrier had been removed and <br />cars and trucks were driving on the grass, which <br />had eroded away. He stated he would like to get <br />'le approval of the St. Paul Water Works and Ramsey <br />_,Junty to get some controls enacted. <br />
