Mounds View City Council April 26, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven <br />Attorney Meyers presented the Council with a copy 16. Report of Attorney <br />of the letter he had received from the Kraus <br />Anderson attorney, regarding SWM charges. <br />Attorney Meyers briefed the Council on a recent <br />case in the Supreme Court, in which a resident <br />sued the City for damage to his home during a <br />heavy rain storm, stating the City was negligent <br />in designing the storm sewer system. He stated <br />he would keep the Council posted on any decision <br />made. <br />Attorney Meyers reported he will be preparing a <br />memo on tax increment financing regarding Chapter <br />8 of the charter provision, once he has completed <br />researching it. <br />Attorney Meyers reported he had checked into a <br />private detective, who is working in the City, <br />per the request of a Councilmember, and found that <br />the detective is not violating any ordinance or <br />law. He suggested that anyone with a complaint <br />could call the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to limit each Council- 17. <br />member to five minutes for their report, and <br />beyond that, to be submitted in writing. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Doty had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated she would put her <br />report in writing. <br />Councilmember. Forslund reported the Planning <br />Commission will discuss the fill permit the Council <br />referred back, and will act on May 5. <br />Councilmember Hodges reported Oakwood Park appears <br />to need fill. Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied <br />that fill will be brought in, once the load limits <br />are off. <br />Councilmember Hodges stated he was concerned with <br />the amount of bike and pedestrian traffic along <br />Long Lake Road, between County Road H2 and Highway <br />10. He recommended letting the County know. <br />Mayor McCarty reported he would not be able to <br />attend the April 29 Met Council public hearing. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied he would be <br />attending, and will present Mounds View's position. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to adopt Resolution <br />No. 1533 and waive the reading regarding the City's <br />Reports of <br />Councilmembers <br />Motion Carried <br />
