PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />Regular Meeting <br />June 14, 1982 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />2401 Hwy. 10, Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />The Mounds View City Council was called to order 1. Call to Order <br />by Mayor McCarty at 7:31 PM. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmembers Forslund, <br />Blanchard and Mayor McCarty. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Meyers, Clerk/ <br />Administrator Pauley and Public Works /Community <br />Development Director Johnson. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard Forslund to approve the 3. Approval of <br />May 24, 1982 minutes as presented. Minutes: <br />May 24, 1982 <br />3 ayes 0 nays <br />Bill Poblete, 8423 Knollwood Drive, stated he is 4. Citizens Requests <br />a member of an eight family Mounds View cu -rec- and Comments from <br />reational softball team, which is sponsored by the Floor <br />the First State Bank of New Brighton, Mounds View <br />Branch. He explained they have a softball <br />tournament the weekend of the Festival in the Park, <br />and sell 3.2 beer the Saturday before the Festival. <br />He asked the Council to make an exception for them, <br />and grant them a permit to sell beer. <br />Dan Haugen, 8439 Knollwood Drive, added that they <br />are not able to purchase beer from a wholesaler <br />without a permit. <br />Mayor McCarty explained when working on the ordi- <br />nance, the Council had decided it was not worth <br />the liability risk to the City to give permits <br />for selling intoxicating liquor. He added they <br />could not circumvent the ordinance, as they are <br />bound by it, and if they were to decide to <br />change the ordinance, it would require 45 days <br />to do it. He apologized but said an exception <br />could not be made. <br />Councilmember Doty arrived at 7:37 PM. <br />2. Roll Call <br />Motion Carried <br />
