Mounds View City Council October 11, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Seven <br />-,McCarthy, Josey Warren, Jean Miller, Ken Breske, <br />Jerry Linke and Chairman Peg Mountin, as well as all <br />the people who worked long hours and attended many <br />meetings. <br />Mayor McCarty gave a special thanks to Neil Loeding, <br />and presented him with a certificate of thanks, <br />declaring him the official "Keeper of the Cattails <br />Mayor McCarty, on behalf of the City Council, again <br />thanked everyone involved for their hard work on <br />the ordinance. <br />Finance Director Brager reported that, in addition 8. Third Quarter <br />to normal duties, the Finance Department had been Department Head <br />very busy working with the Council on the 1983 Reports <br />budget, and he felt a good job had been done, with <br />the property tax increase being kept to 3.9 while <br />the City is maintaining their central services. <br />Finance Director Brager reported they had assisted <br />the Clerk /Administrator at the counting center for <br />the primary election, and the ballot counter that <br />malfunctioned has been sent out for repair and is <br />due back in time for the general election. <br />Finance Director Brager reported the special assess- <br />ment for Silver Lake Woods has been certified with <br />the County, and two pre- payments have been received. <br />He reported also that they expect to continue work- <br />ing on the budget and elections in the next quarter, <br />and that they have received three proposals for the <br />audit of the 1982 records. Mie Sported also that <br />the word processor will serve as a remote terminal <br />at City Hall to hook up to the Ramsey County <br />computer, and they hope to have the utility programs <br />up by the first of the year, and hope to end 1983 <br />with all systems operational at City Hall. He <br />explained this should reduce some operating costs <br />in data processing, and should make it a much more <br />marketable system. He added they hope to develop <br />a marketing plan to recruit other cities, which <br />would lower the cost for Mounds View. <br />Finance Director Brager reported the City is pretty <br />much on target with the 1982 budget to date. <br />Park Director Anderson reported the third quarter <br />had been very busy for the Rec programs, with the <br />Festival in the Park being a greet success and <br />the opening of the Edgewood Community Resource <br />.:enter on September 15. <br />
