Mounds View City Council October 11, 1982 <br />Regular Meeting Page Eleven <br />Park Director Anderson explained he would like to <br />take time off, with pay, to attend the National <br />Recreation and Park Association Congress, at his <br />own personal expense, and would require 3 days. <br />Mayor McCarty replied that Staff members are to <br />be granted compensation in time off for the extra <br />hours they put in, and recommended Mr. Anderson <br />use his comp time, and stated no action was <br />required since it was an administrative matter. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to authorize <br />the City to receive the free fill from the property <br />at 5071 Bona Road. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Director Johnson reported they have serviced 192 <br />meters and found a high percentage of unaccurate <br />readings. He added a more detailed report would <br />be prepared at the end of the study, but explained <br />the problem area has been identified as a batch of <br />300 meters, and asked approval to install 50 Rock- <br />well meters from the supply to replace 50 of the <br />erroneous meters, at a cost of approximately <br />$2,250. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Blanchard to authorize <br />the reassignment of $2,250 in the Water 700, <br />Material and Supply account, to purchase water <br />meters. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Director Johnson reported a second bid had been <br />received for the sewer break on County Road H, <br />and the problem appears to be much more expensive <br />than was originally estimated. He noted the low <br />bidder is ready to start immediately upon award <br />of the contract. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Forslund to authorize Staff <br />to draw from the SWM fund a maximum of $7,700, of <br />which $6,840 will be paid to Dawson Construction, <br />Inc. for repair of the storm sewer system on <br />County Road 1, east of Bona Road. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Director Johnson reported that the motor from Lift <br />Station #3 had failed and is being repaire:i, and <br />,-it was brought to his attention that the equipment <br />may be needing servicing in the future.
