Mounds View City Council August 22, 1983 <br />Regular Meeting Page Two <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Linke to have the first reading <br />of Ordinance No. 334, amending the municipal code <br />of Mounds View by amending Chapter 43 entitled <br />"Mobile Homes and waive the reading of the <br />ordinance. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed Park Director <br />Anderson's memo of August 18 regarding the hiring <br />of the part -time aquatics director. He explained <br />the position would be funded from three separate <br />sources, $3,500 from the Lakeside Park Commission <br />account, $1,500 from the City of Mounds View's <br />recreation account, and $4,000 from the recreation <br />activity program fees from account 250 -351 -4304. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Hankner to approve the hiring <br />of Maureen Thielen for the part -time aquatics <br />director, and pass Resolution No. 1644 and the <br />memo of understanding between the City of Mounds <br />View and Ms. Thielen, outlining the duties of <br />the City's part -time aquatics director. The length <br />of employment is to be one year, to terminate on <br />August 22, 1984, with the salary not to exceed <br />$9,000. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Acting Mayor Blanchard closed the regular meeting <br />and opened the public hearing at 7:42 PM. <br />Director Johnsen noted that Mr. Bayerkohler was <br />present. He explained the applicant is proposing <br />to take the existing 4 -plex building and convert <br />it into office -type space, and that in order to <br />make the conversion, certain site revisions must <br />be made. He stated the Planning Commission has <br />reviewed the item and discussed it with Mr. <br />Bayerkohler and have recommended approval to <br />the Council. He added that Staff recommends <br />the Council move ahead with Resolution No. 1643 <br />and the first reading of Ordinance No. 346. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley pointed out the section <br />of the code that Councilmember Linke found which <br />called for screening of the building. <br />Jim Plocienik, a representative for Mr. Bayerkohler, <br />stated they would be agreeable to put in screening, <br />and he presented the Council with site plans, showing <br />the layout of the existing and proposed screening. <br />He noted that much of the screening is already in <br />place. <br />Acting Mayor Blanchard closed the public hearing and <br />7. 1st Reading of <br />Ordinance No. <br />334 <br />Motion Carried <br />8.
