Mounds View City Council
Regular Meeting
Councilmember Linke reported he had been contacted by
a resident regarding the northwest corner of County
Road I and Quincy, regarding mowing the triangle, and
it was determined it was City property, and the City
will be responsible for mowing it.
Mayor McCarty had no report.
Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported the City has
been invited to make an energy presentation to
the Governor, and asked if a Councilmember would
like to attend the presentation. He presented
the Council will the preliminary packet that will
be presented to the Governor.
Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported the City has
received notice from the City of Blaine regarding
a public hearing on July 31 to provide a conditional
use permit for operating a semi trailer sales and
leasing lot by the North Star trailer lot. He
advised the Planning Commission will be discussing
it at their meeting this week.
Director Thatcher reviewed the purpose of the
informational hearing.
Director Thatcher reviewed the improvements that
would have to be made in order to open the
emergency access permanently. He reported Staff
had done a traffic study of the area, and
measured 1450 vehicles per day.
Mayor McCarty stated the residents petition will
be entered as part of the proceedings.
Rich Newman stated he feels the fence is good
protection against theft, but he would like to
see the road open in winter, as there is a plowing
problem in the trailer court.
Mayor McCarty pointed out the trailer court is
private property and the responsibility of the
owner to plow.
Margaret Ihde stated she did not feel the gate
would stop theft, and two exits are needed for
emergencies, and would even out the traffic.
Mark Mack, 4068 Glenhaven Lane, stated he lives
around the corner from the gate and feels it
should be open, as they cannot get school bus
service there now. He stated he does not feel
the theft situation would change, and requested
everyone keep safety in mind.
July 23, 1984
Page Five
16.
