Mounds View City Council June 24, 1985 <br />Regular Meeting Page Two <br />Councilmember Hankner pointed out that any change to <br />the ordinance would require months to become official. <br />Mayor Linke asked that a crew from the Public Works <br />Department go out again and try to shut the valve off. <br />Director Thatcher replied that he had sent a two -man <br />crew out twice, but he would send them out one more time. <br />Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, clarified that a <br />few years back a home owner had faced a $10,000 repair <br />bill for the sewer stub at the main by his house, and <br />the Council had gone through and revised the sewer <br />policy at that time. <br />Mr. McCarty asked for a clarification of a statement <br />that had appeared in the Quad Communities newspaper <br />dated June 18, 1985, regarding alcohol in the parks. <br />Mayor Linke replied the item is not on the agenda <br />for discussion tonight and will be discussed again <br />at the next agenda session. He provided Mr. McCarty <br />with a working copy that included some of the changes <br />proposed for the ordinance. <br />Councilmember Hankner pointed out there is no ordinance <br />that allows beer in the parks, and it is not permitted. <br />Mayor Linke closed the regular meeting and opened <br />the first public hearing at 8:06 PM. <br />Director Thatcher reviewed the request of the <br />applicant for a minor subdivision. <br />Mayor Linke closed the public hearing and reopened <br />the regular meeting at 8:07 PM. <br />Motion /Second: Haake /Blanchard to approve the <br />minor subdivision request for Simon's Sport Shop, <br />2840 Highway 10, to divide the commercial property <br />from the residential property, as presented. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke closed the regular meeting and opened <br />the next public hearing at 8:07 PM. <br />Director Thatcher reviewed the request of the <br />applicant, explaining that approval had been granted <br />by the Council on June 26, 1978, but the property <br />owner never filed it with the County, and was now <br />required to receive approval again.
