Approval of <br />agreement contract with the Metropolitan Council Grant Agreement <br />for a $958 performing arts grant. Consideration <br />No. 1941, disapproving an increase in basic cable of Resolution <br />television service rates by Group W Cable of the No. 1941 <br />North Suburbs, Inc. <br />Jerry Skelly, the City's representative to the <br />Cable Commission, reviewed the problems Group W <br />has had in marketing their program. He stated <br />that Mounds View is the only City to vote against <br />;:she passtive rate review. He also stated this is <br />a nationwide problem, with too much being promised <br />originally. He added he feels the use of access <br />to cable tv will be why Group W survives, He <br />compared the proposed $2 per month increase to <br />the cost of providing entertainment for a family <br />of four, and asked the Council to approve the <br />rate increase. <br />Councilmember Hankner reported the Council has a <br />meeting scheduled with Group W for 5 PM on <br />October 21, to tour their facility and see first- <br />hand what their operation is, and she added the <br />Council had just received a packet of information <br />from Group W, which they have not had an opportunity <br />to review. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Quick to table action <br />to the October 28, 1985 City Council meeting. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays Motion Carried <br />Mr. Frits stated the people had come to the meeting <br />expecting this issue to be discussed and resolved, <br />and not to be tabled. <br />ouncilmember Hankner replied the Council should be <br />given the opportunity to visit the facility and <br />review the information they have just been given. <br />12.
