Mounds View City Council February 23, 1987 <br />Page Two <br />Regular Meeting <br />Mayor Linke replied that Mr. Smith's resignation was <br />noted in the Council minutes when it was received, and <br />they do not notify the residents when an employee <br />resigns their position with the City. <br />Mr. Pahl noted the Councilmember's phone numbers are not <br />listed in the newsletter and he had had trouble getting <br />Councilmember Wuori's number as he was not sure of her <br />last name. <br />Mayor Linke presented Mr. Pahl with a brochure which is <br />given to new residents, and is available to the public <br />on the rack in the foyer of City Hall, listing the <br />officials names and phone numbers. <br />Mr. Pahl stated he felt a violation had occurred in <br />allowing two driveway violations to stand, both in the <br />Mayor's neighborhood, and he felt they should be <br />treated as any other violation had in the past. <br />Mayor Linke explained the two parties have paid their <br />fines and the fee for a variance, but the issue has <br />been tabled for the time being as the City will be <br />going through a Comp Plan update and the issue will <br />be addressed at that time. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained no enforcement <br />proceedings are being taken, at the direction of the <br />Council, as these driveways are not in compliance <br />with the code, but the Comprehensive Plan update will <br />address the issue. <br />Mayor Linke explained the setback requirements of City <br />code, and he stated the two parties in question had <br />improved the existing parking area, which was not in <br />compliance with the code, and not added any additional <br />parking. <br />Commissioner Duane McCarty reported the County Board <br />will be approving the engineering for County Road I <br />in the near future, and work should begin in the fall. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reviewed the items on the 6. Approval of <br />consent agenda.
