Mounds View City Council February 23, 1987 <br />Regular Meeting Page Four <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Wuori to authorize four weeks <br />severance pay with benefits, for Steve Thatcher, and <br />authorize the Clerk /Administrator to enter into a <br />contract with PDI for $5,200 for outplacement services <br />and authorize the Clerk /Administrator to sign on <br />behalf of the City. <br />3 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke asked approval of proposed Resolution <br />No. 2172, regarding employee salaries. <br />Motion /Second: Wuori /Blanchard to approve Resolution <br />No. 2172, establishing salaries and benefits effective <br />January 1, 1987, and waive the reading. <br />3 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke reminded everyone that the City Appreciation <br />Dinner will be held on April 11, 1987 at the Bel Rae <br />Ballroom, and tickets will go on sale in March. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley asked approval of the <br />Council to enter into an agreement for engineering <br />services between the City of Mounds View and Short, <br />Elliott and Hendrickson, for SEH to represent the <br />City in the interim until Steve Thatcher is <br />replaced. There is a 10 day cancellation clause in <br />the agreement, <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard Wuori to enter into an <br />agreement for engineering services between the City <br />of Mounds View and Short, Elliott and Hendrickson. <br />3 ayes <br />Clerk /Administrator Paulev noted, that per Council <br />direction, Staff will be distributing information <br />regarding the notice in the Federal Register on <br />February 11, from the Office of Pipeline Safety, to <br />the neighborhood group which was involved in the <br />pipeline explosion, as well as respond to the OPS. <br />He also asked for the Council to get back to him <br />by February 26 if they had any changes to the press <br />release for the weekend. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported he had received <br />a call from Attorney Meyers, who is out of town but <br />keeping up on the pipeline situation, advising him <br />that Judge Murphy has granted a stay in the trial <br />until May 8. He also reported the OPS has requested <br />-the sections of pipeline dug up in Mounds View be <br />released to them for examination, but the City is <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Carried <br />11.
