She also discussed potential problems in <br />scheduling Irondale High School for the community <br />theater production this coming summer. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley asked that these items <br />be covered under his report later on the agenda. <br />Attorney Karney had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember Wuori reported the Irondale spring <br />play will be "Would -Be Gentlemen and performances <br />are scheduled for March 12, 13 and 14 at Irondale, <br />and she urged community support. <br />Councilmember Wuori reported the Planning Commission <br />has requested the Council authorize a traffic study <br />to be done for the intersection of Highway 10 and <br />Silver Lake Road, and they specifically have <br />requested that the firm of Barton Ashmann be <br />retained to do the work. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained that the Planning <br />Commission has received a request from Amoco to build <br />a self service gas station and car wash on the south- <br />west corner of Silver Lake Road and Highway 10. He <br />added he contacted Barton Ashmann and explained the <br />criteria the Planning Commission had set out, and they <br />gave him a price of between $3,000 and $5,000. He <br />then called TKDA and gave them the same information <br />and received a price not to exceed $600, and then he <br />called Short Elliott- Hendrickson and was given their <br />price not to exceed $500. He added he has worked <br />with both TKDA and SEH, and the City has a very good <br />report with both firms and he would recommend selecting <br />one of them over Barton- Ashmann due to the price <br />difference. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley stated a traffic study was <br />done when Kinder Care was proposed, but that was a <br />different location of the intersection, and the <br />Planning Commission now has specific concerns of how <br />traffic will flow onto Highway 10 and Silver Lake Road <br />that they would like addressed specifically to this <br />proposed development.
