Councilmember Wuori had no report. Mayor Linke asked the Council to appoint Mark Simons to fill the present vacancy on the Planning Commission. Motion /Second: Linke /Hankner to appoint Mark Simon to the Planning Commission, for a term through December 31, 1989. 5 ayes Councilmember Hankner noted that two applications had been received for the vacancy, and both applicants were interviewed by the Council at the last agenda session. Mayor Linke reported that the Ramsey County League of Local Governments would be broadcasting their October 21 meeting on Channel 16, at which time they would be discussing the Ramsey County library issue. Councilmember Quick pointed out the County is looking for people interested in being appointed to the library board, and he suggested anyone interested in the position contact City Hall for an application. Clerk /Administrator Pauley updated the Council on the progress of the County Road I construction. He reported they are presently pouring concrete on the road. Motion Carried Councilmember Blanchard Councilmember Wuori Mayor Linke 0 nays Motion Carried Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported that pursuant to 13. Report of Council direction, Staff had contacted the County to Clerk/ request traffic controls be temporarily placed at the Administrator County Road J and new Highway 10 intersection. He explained the requested had been forwarded to District 9, and they responded that they had evaluated the traffic controls at that location last year and did not feel any changes were required. They did agree, however, to reevaluate the situation and get back to the City.
