Mounds View City Council <br />.Regular Meeting <br />Motion /Second: Hankner /Quick to approve the recommen- <br />dations made in the November 19 memo regarding a <br />change order on Mounds View Project 87 -4, County Road <br />I Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Attorney Meyers had no report. <br />Councilmei..ber Hankner reported she would not be at <br />the December 14 meeting, as she would be on <br />vacation. <br />Councilmember Hankner reported the residents from <br />around Silver View Park had met with the Forester <br />to discuss plantings that would go around Silver <br />View Pond, and they seemed pleased with what was <br />proposed. She stated the work should be done in <br />the spring. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated she had also talked <br />to the Forester about some trees that appear to be <br />dying of oak wilt, and while the test results are <br />negative at this time, he will keep a close watch <br />on them. <br />12. Report of <br />Attorney <br />Councilmember Hankner reported she had attended the design <br />evening at Pinewood School on November 18 for their new <br />playground. She stated that she hopes the City can be an <br />active participant in the project. <br />Councilmember Hankner reported she had been given a notice from <br />the Mounds View Wetlands Preservation Committee, and that while <br />she knows it was sent out be well meaning people, some points <br />need to be clarified or corrected. She added that all meetings on <br />this subject have been public and open to residents and concerned <br />citizens, and the Council has spent approximately 9 hours in <br />public hearings or citizen informational meetings. She proceeded <br />to point out corrections. One correction is a statement regarding <br />an upgrade project of the storm sewer system. She stated that the <br />Council is not at this time undertaking a major project and that <br />in meetings with citizens who are interested in such improvements <br />the Council informed residents of how to proceed toward any storm <br />water management improvements. She reviewed briefly some of the <br />recommendations made by t' John Johnson study, regarding the storm <br />sewer project proposed in 1978, and the cost which was projected <br />to be $2 -4 million, plus land acquisition. <br />Councilmember Hankner clarified the date at which <br />action will be taken by the Council, on December 14, <br />and she stated she regrets she will not be at that <br />meeting to vote on the issue.
