Mounds View City Council January 25, 1988 <br />Regular Meeting Page Six <br />Councilmember Blanchard stated that she agreed the issue <br />should go to the Plannir. Commission. <br />Attorney Meyers recommended a formal hearing be held on <br />the matter. <br />Councilmember Hankner recommended the people be informed <br />by a letter that the item will be going before the <br />Planning Commission, and that a public hearing would be <br />held at a later date. <br />It was the concensus of the Council that they would <br />like the hearing to be held at the Council level. <br />Attorney Meyers advised it would involve acquiring the <br />property or the donation of the right -of -way for the <br />placement of the road. <br />Motion /Second: Linke /Hankner to direct Staff to send <br />a letter to the area residents, informing them of the <br />proposal to develop the lot in question. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Hankner had no report. 13. <br />Councilmember Wuori had no report. <br />Motion /Second: Quick /Wuori to have Staff and the <br />Park and Rec Commission study the need for lighting in <br />each park in the City, to include a priority list, the <br />cost per park, the layout and type of lighting needed. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported there is a committee <br />working cn the 30th anniversary of the City, and some <br />good ideas have come forth. She asked that residents <br />with ideas contact her or someone from City Hall. She <br />e,-?ded that it will be celebrated with the Festival in <br />the Park, on July 17. <br />Mayor Linke encouraged people to seek out students from <br />Pinewood Elementary School to buy a board for their <br />playground campaign, and to drop change into the coin <br />jugs located throughout the City.
