Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting Page Twelve <br />Councilmember Hankner suggested inviting the State <br />representatives to come in and meet with the Council <br />and provide an update on the tax bill. She stated <br />it would be helpful to the Council, as they will <br />be starting the budget process soon. <br />It was the concensus of the Council to have Staff <br />contact them and set up a time for them to come in. <br />Councilmember Hankner reported on a news article <br />that had appeared in the Star Tribune on May 23 <br />regarding school district budgets and the process <br />they follow, and she suggested inviting the Super- <br />intendent to come in and make a presentation to the <br />Council on their budgeting process. She added we <br />do not seem to communicate well, and it could be <br />helpful to the Council in the budgeting process.She <br />suggested setting up a special night and inviting <br />other local Councils to join in. <br />Motion /Second: Hankner Linke to direct Staff to <br />contact the school district and request a meeting, <br />at their convenience, and make it a formal meeting <br />of the Council, for broadcast, and have them present <br />their budget. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor Linke stated he would like a copy of the budget <br />in advance. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated the City should send <br />their budget documents to the school district also. <br />Councilmember Wuori stated she could not praise the Councilmember <br />Pinewood group enough for the work they did. Wuori <br />Councilmember Quick stated the Pinewood playground Councilmember <br />construction was an unbelievable project and Quick <br />experience. <br />Councilmember Blanchard reported the 30th anniversary Councilmember <br />buttons would be available from local merchants soon. Blanchard <br />She also asked the status of the meeting on the <br />Harstad proposal. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley reported no one showed up <br />for the meeting, so one did not occur. <br />Mayor Linke reported he too felt the Pinewood playground <br />experience was unbelievable.
