The Mounds View City Council was called to order by 1. Call to <br />Mayor Linke at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 1988. Order <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was said. 2. Pledge of <br />Allegiance <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Councilmembers Hankner, Wuori, Quick, 3. Roll Call <br />Blanchard and Mayor Linke. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Meyers and Clerk/ <br />Administrator Pauley. <br />Motion /Second: Blanchard /Hankner to approve the May <br />9, 1988 minutes as presented. <br />J5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />Paul Milke, 5116 Brighton Lane, inquired how much the <br />City asked the State Legislature for in grants and <br />local government aid, and how much was given. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained grants must be <br />applied for individually, as they are not state aid. <br />The preliminary figure is a 40 percent increase in <br />loyal government aid, which would be $230,000, but <br />that does not mean the City's revenues are increased by <br />that amount, and he explained the process used. He <br />added they do not know yet what has happened with <br />homestead ciedit, which has been changed, and that <br />could have a significant impact on the City. <br />Councilmember Hankner explained the City has not gone <br />to the Legislature ,:ith a formal rec est, but rather <br />stay in touch with their local Legislators. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained the lobbying <br />process used and added that they always hope for <br />more, but they never know until the end what will <br />?lappen. <br />Date Approved: 6/27/88 <br />Regular Meeting <br />May 23, 1988 <br />Mounds View City Hall <br />2401 Hwy. 10, Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />4.
