He stated he had directed Public Works
supervisor Minetor to review the options available
using the feasibility study the Library Board
developed and review them with the Council.
Mayor Linke stated there had been discussion with
Mr. DeGross, owner of the gas station, last week,
and he has not had negotiations with the County.
He stated the contamination on the site has been
determined to be from 1963.
Public Works Director Minetor presented overhead
maps of the property in question and reviewed the
three options possible for the location of the library
and its future expansion.
Clerk /Administrator Pauley explained the Library Board
will make the final decision on the options presented
by the City, so the Council should be clear in stating
if they have a preference. He also advised they state
that if the land used is donated by the City so the
County doesn't have to go out and purchase it, the
funds saved should be reinvested in the Library, in
meeting rooms or some other manner. He added the
Council will have development and site review on the
plan.
Councilmember Hankner stated she was not happy with
taking commercial property off the tax rolls, es-
pecially when it could require a good deal of clean -up.
She also pointed out the City has administrative costs
cn that site for trying to get it leaned up.
October 24, 1988
Page Seven
12.
