Consideration of Authorizing Staff to Install Netting at Golf <br />Course at a Cost Not To Exceed 518,000 <br />Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry, <br />reported that the netting at the golf course was needed to <br />prevent golf balls from damaging equipment parked at Blaine <br />Brother's Trucking Firm. Saarion requested Council to approve <br />the purchase of netting contingent upon receiving three <br />competitive estimates and authorize staff to contract the <br />installation of netting for a cost not to exceed $18,000. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Blanchard to Approve the Installation <br />of Netting at Golf Course at a Cost Not to Exceed $18,000, <br />Funds from Contingency Fund <br />VOTE: 5 Ayes 0 Nays Motion Carried <br />REPORTS <br />1. Report of Councilmembers: <br />Councilmember Quick: No report. <br />Councilmember Blanchard: No report. <br />Councilmember Hankner: No report. <br />Councilmember Trude: <br />a. Reported that she had heard many compliments <br />and verbally thanked all of those who were involved <br />in the organization of the Festival. The Festival <br />helps to promote our community. <br />b. Attended a meeting regarding the use of the arsenal <br />land. This group will be meeting until October and <br />will make a decision on the best use of the land. <br />Trude reported that Ardan Hills had hired an outside <br />planning agency who has prepared four different <br />proposals for the use of this land for natural uses <br />and passive recreation. <br />Report of Mayor Linke: <br />Mayor Linke listed all persons who volunteered their time to work <br />on the Festival and verbally thanked all of those volunteers. <br />Linke also gave statistics on attendance and commented on the <br />parade and its organization. <br />50 <br />
