This
program would provide a funding mechanism to estimate the
funds required to do the pavement work.
This would be a computer software program which would be
funded from the Silver Lake Woods Fund. Although Mounds View
would have the total software package and would be fully in
charge of their own system, some of the training costs would
be shared with SEH.
Councilmember Quick commented that this Pavement Management
Program would save the City money in the long run.
Councilmember Blanchard requested clarification of the quote
received from SEH for the purchase of the program. She also
questioned if there were other firms which would furnish
quotes for such a system.
•
Ulrich replied that there were no other firms that could
furnish this system. He affirmed that approximately 10 or 12
other communities in the metro area presently use the system
and are very pleased with it.
MOTION/SECOND: Hankner/Quick to Approve the Purchase and
Adoption of a Pavement Management Program from SEH
Quick summarized that this program would provide staff and
residents the information and guidance required to maintain
the City's streets.
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
I.
