RESOLUTION 7742 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING KLM ENGINEERING, INC. TO PREPARE TECHNICAL <br /> SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ELEVATED WATER TOWER RECONDITIONING <br /> PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the 500,000 gallon elevated water tower is nineteen years old and in <br /> need of interior /exterior coating replacement and structural modifications and repairs to <br /> comply with current OSHA requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, KLM Engineering, Inc. of Lake Elmo, Minnesota inspected the water <br /> tower in August 2009 and prepared an inspection report that recommends coating <br /> replacement and structural modifications and repairs to be performed in one to three <br /> years (2010- 2012); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City and KLM Engineering have prepared a scope of work and <br /> mutually agreed to work jointly in preparing plans and specifications; and <br /> WHEREAS, KLM Engineering has provided a fixed fee of $2,800 to prepare <br /> technical specifications and assist the City in the design phase for reconditioning the <br /> water tower; and <br /> WHEREAS, monies have been budgeted in 2011 under the Water Enterprise <br /> Fund for reconditioning the water tower. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The letter proposal submitted by KLM Engineering, Inc. to prepare technical <br /> specifications and assist with the design phase is hereby accepted by the City. <br /> Compensation will be on a lump sum basis of $2,800 for said services. <br /> 2. Upon satisfactory review of the City Attorney, the Mayor and City Administrator are <br /> hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to enter into <br /> agreement with KLM Engineering, Inc. for said services at said price. <br /> Adopted this 14th day of February, 2010. <br /> J Flaherty, <br /> ATTEST: <br /> J <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
