21 <br />September 2, 1958 <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View was <br />Called to order by Mayor Gibson at 8:00 P.M. on September 2, 1958, at the Village Hall, <br />1450 West Highway 96. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Martha Irvine <br />Trustees: John L. Sullivan <br />Reuben G. Achterkirch <br />Ingram C. Rustad <br />and the following were also present: <br />Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt <br />Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers <br />Treasurer: Irene Edberg <br />Engineer: Otto Bonestroo <br />All bills presented by the Clerk were approved to be paid. <br />Mr. Sig Haugen, 7710 Groveland, Minneapolis, and John Haugen presented a residential <br />plat proposal for six lots and alternate plat for eight lots for an area north of Co. Rd. <br />"I" and west of Groveland. Referred to Planning Committee for recommendation. <br />Mr. Sam Dalberg, 8605 Fairview Drive, Minneapolis, presented a proposed plat for two <br />to four lots South of Hillview Rd. and west of Spring Lake Rd. Referred to Planning <br />Committee for recommendation. <br />Mr. Robert W. Nixon, 1140 First St. N.W., New Brighton, appeared to inquire whether <br />it was necessary for him to obtain a license to pick up garbage from the public schools <br />in the Village. He was advised that it was required, and he made application for such <br />license. <br />Mr. Ronny Hager 3429 - 15th Ave. S., Minneapolis, appeared to inquire what the <br />assessment might be for repair to the drainage ditch abutting property on Lambert Dr. He <br />was advised that this would amount to approximately one -third of the property involved <br />and probably one -third of the cost of repair when an assessment was made, and that the <br />matter should be looked into further with John Eastman, owner of the property. <br />Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hlavinka, 8071 Long Lake Road, asked permission to move a substandard <br />house from the adjoining lot to the rear of the lot at the above address. In both cases, <br />another house is also on the lot. Addition to the substandard house is planned to increase <br />the size from 20' x 14' to 20' x 24.8' and install plumbing. Referred to attorney for <br />report at September 16 meeting. <br />Mr. A. J. Jansen, 2064 Summit Avenue., St. Paul desires to develop 56 acres south of the <br />Skyline Motel with 660' frontage on Highway 8 which he owns. He requested that he be <br />notified of Planning Committee action affecting this property. <br />Engineer Bonestroo distributed and explained a report on the Need Study for Municipal <br />State Aid Roads which had been completed. Total needs reported to the State Highway <br />Department were $4,804.00 for maintenance and $835,555.00 for construction. <br />The Engineer recommended that another coat of oil be put on Bronson Drive. <br />
