31 <br />October 29, 1958 <br />A special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View was <br />called to order by Mayor Gibson at 7:30 P.M. on October 29, 1958, at the Village <br />Hall, 1450 West Highway 96. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Martha Irvine <br />Trustees: John L. Sullivan <br />Reuben G. Achterkirch <br />Ingram C. Rustad <br />and the following were also present: <br />Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt <br />Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers <br />Mr. McCubrey and Mr. McFadden from the State Highway Department presented plans for <br />Highway 8. Mr. Dahlgren, planning consultant, presented a map showing the proposed <br />shopping center in the 80 acres between 8 and 10 and the effect that the highway will <br />have on this property. After much discussion the Council recessed for five minutes. <br />At the end of the recess the Mayor announced that the Council could not approve the <br />plans at the present time with the deletion of the service drive along Highway 8. The <br />Council will arrange a future meeting with the Highway Department. <br />Trustee Sullivan recommended that Mrs. Glen Dawson, Mrs. Fred Madsen, Betty Wall <br />and Mr. Earl Barry be appointed to the Recreation Committee. <br />Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Rustad to change the date when the interest on <br />the assessment for Edgewood Drive would begin from January 1, 1959 to September 16, 1958. <br />5 ayes. <br />Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Irvine to adjourn at 10:07 P.M. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />C4,4c/tiziL.ij <br />Martha Irvine <br />Clerk <br />
