47 <br />January 20, 1959 <br />A special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View was <br />called to order by Mayor Gibson at 8:00 P.M. on January 20, 1959, at the Village <br />Hall, 1450 W. Highway 96. <br />The following members were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Reuben G. Achterkirch <br />Melford C. Christensen <br />John L. Sullivan <br />and the following were also present: <br />Deputy Clerk: Mary Jean Milbrandt <br />Legal Counsel: Richard Meyers <br />The following bids for a village police car were read: <br />Bidder Trade -In Net Price <br />Amery Motor Company 3,046.48 <br />Midway Ford Company 950.00 1,980.00 <br />Minar Company 1,877.79 1,984.71 <br />Clayton Anderson Motors 2,730.00 <br />R. K. Thornton 966.45 2,500.00 <br />(alternate bid 6 passenger 4 dr. Sedan) 966.45 2,426.00 <br />Motion by Achterkirch, seconded by Christensen to accept bid from Clayton <br />Anderson Motors without trade -in. 5 ayes. <br />The minutes of the January 2nd recessed meeting were corrected to show <br />James Gibson as Chairman of the Police Commission and Reuben Achterkirch as Vice <br />Chairman. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Achterkirch to approve the minutes as <br />corrected. <br />Mr. James Manson, 8145 Groveland Rd. was requested to correct the situation of <br />junked cars on his property as soon as possible. <br />Mr. Leonard Babinski discussed with the Council the possibility of building <br />double bungalows on the property between Sunnyside and Redoak north of County Road <br />H and South of Woodcrest Drive. Mr. Babinski was informed he should obtain a <br />petition from the adjoining property owners and the matter would then be referred <br />to the Planning Committee. <br />Ingram C. Rusted was sworn in by Clerk Earl Smith as Mounds View Civil Defense <br />Director. <br />Mr. Bentrup presented a survey of a lot located on Red Oak Drive described as <br />follows: The South one hundred thirty (130) feet of the west one hundred (112) <br />feet of the east one hundred forty -five (145) feet of the north four hundred five <br />(405) feet of the south eight hundred ten (810) feet of the west five hundred <br />twenty -eight (528) feet of the Northeast Quarter (NE1) of Section Six (6), Township <br />Thirty (30), Range Twenty -Three (23), Ramsey County, Minnesota, subject to a road <br />easement over the east thirty -three (33) feet thereof. Motion by Gibson, <br />seconded by Achterkirch to approve Lot. 5 ayes. <br />
